Back to Basics

I wanted to introduce 2 brand new lines that are part of the split obsession mix. The first one is LinQ. Known for its silk chiffon trim on lots of basic tees and tunics, they provide lots of wardrobe must haves, including comfy tanks that can be dressed up for a night out or an uber soft tunic that goes great with jeans.

The other line I wanted to introduce is Zooey. Known for their comfy fabrics and organic line, Zooey is all about the t-shirt. They've got a few dressier styles, too, but they are definitely known for all their basics....the v-neck, the 3/4 sleeve, the tank.....the list goes on and on....

Come by and check it out! They'll be a part of your wardrobe forever.

Musubi Mob

My sister read an article about a musubi place and insisted that we check it out. We got there around 10 and found out that they don't open until 10:30. We decided to circle the block and see if there was anything close by that could help us kill a half hour. 5 minutes later, we decided to just park our car in front of Mana Bu's, the musubi destination. To our surprise, a line had formed with about 10 people. We quickly jumped in line and by the time the little musubi store opened, the line was around the corner!

Once we were inside, there were neatly wrapped musubi in a variety of flavors, including spicy ahi, baked salmon, teri spam, & curry. We quickly filled our baskets with lots of musubi.

There was also a variety of veggies to choose from...kabocha, gobo, green beans in sesame, and sweet potato with macadamia nut. It was all very delcious and healthy. Prices ranged from $1.20 to $2 for each item.

If you ever want to check it out, it's across the street from Washington Intermediate, behind Baskin Robins. You could just go around 10ish and follow the line. Everyone loves a good musubi!

DIRTY HANDS

Last night, we went to check out the Hawaii premiere of Dirty Hands: The Art and Crimes of David Choe. Both David Choe and the director, Harry Kim were present to answer questions. We thought it was a great movie.....basically chronicling David Choe's 20's with footage taken over a 7 year period. With labels like "manic depressive," "kleptomaniac," and "sexual addict," it was a raw look at his start in the outsider art scene and rise to fame. Kind of makes you think of what diagnoses you should have had whey you were in your 20's. Although most of us haven't traveled the world, been imprisoned, or sold 2.5 million dollars of anything, I think a lot of us can identify with the struggles that were captured in the movie...making the "right" decision, growing up, maintaining relationships. It's playing at the Hawaii International Film Festival one more time; 10/15 at 7pm.

They had $10 tees for sale, too!
