My eats this week...

Island Vintage Coffee recently opened at Ala Moana Center, near Center Stage. Thought I'd try the acai bowl there. It was massive and delicious, with lots of honey on top. Thumbs up. Great quick lunch or snack for 2 people (yes, it's that big)!

Also had the fried mac n cheese from our neighbors at Therapy in Koko Marina. I've never had fried mac n cheese and almost thought they got the order wrong, when we opened the container, but to our suprise and delight, there's actually mac n cheese inside these fried cubes of deliciousness. Yum frickin yum!!! Go visit them the next time you come see us at Koko!! As you can tell from the container, they also do take out.

Hairy Paw-tter!

Come and check out the fabulous event being put on by our neighbors at Bark Ave this Saturday!! They will be hosting a special costume contest for doggies dressed like their favorite Harry Potter character. Hawaii Dog Foundation will also be there! Obama eating shave ice...

There was tons of excitement the day after Christmas! Bruce and I were bracing for returns and exchanges from Christmas, when one of our customers informed us that Obama was eating shave ice at Kokonuts. Being in disbelief, I had to check it out myself. Sure enough, there was tons of secret service and a roped off area for Obama and his girls. He had rainbow shave ice!!


It was extremely cool to see our next president at Koko Marina.
Or course later that night was the island-wide blackout, making everything extra memorable! Craziness and no electricity in Hawaii Kai until 3:30 pm-ish the next day. We hope you survived the dark, and split obsession is definitely back up and running! Hope you all had a great Christmas. Bruce and I feel so blessed to have such awesome customers and friends.
